Image Scheduler

The Pukka-j Image Scheduler allows diagnostic quality imaging data to be transmitted across wide area networks at a specified time.   This tool was designed specifically to deal with the transfer of lossless quality multi-slice CT data sets from a number of disparate imaging centre locations sending to a remote centralised Image Archive (PACS).   In the past, the imaging centres were restrained by very slow limited bandwidth network speeds.

In order to optimise the maximum connection speed available and not to cause disruption to daytime network workflow, it was essential to allocate an out of working hours, quick time-slot for data transmission.  The Image Scheduler, which is easily administered from a central location point, automatically manages imaging data between multiple imaging devices and locations.

Pukka-j’s proven Image Management Rules tool allows automated routing of data between imaging devices and computers.  Any Advance Rule can be applied to details or tags already available in the original DICOM image header.   The field can be generated either by the imaging modality or the Radiology Information System (RIS).    For instance, images can be routed based on modality type, body part, referring physician or reporter.   A typical example could be “send all acquired CT images from device A to location 1, 2 and 3, except for CT Heads which only need to be sent to location 4.”  Pukka-j’s Advance Rules tool can apply multiple rule sets to any one image; therefore, images can be routed back and forth between computers.

DICOM Ager

For functional servers such as Import Modality Comms servers, Proxy servers & Departmental servers it is important that they manage themselves. The Pukka-j DICOM Ager allows for automatic deletion of any DICOM object when it reaches a preset age on the server. This can be days, months or years depending on the size of server and its role.
